I want to provide you with a brief update on the Â鶹´«Ã½AVÔÚÏß¿´ budget outlook. It is no secret that we were facing a significant budget gap as we worked our way through the 2026-2027 budget cycle. It also is no secret that to help stabilize our finances, we made difficult but necessary decisions. While those steps were far from easy, early projections for the 2027 - 2028 school year show that our efforts are already putting us on a much better trajectory as we begin developing next year’s budget. Of course, we are keeping a close eye on our major cost drivers. Our primary goal right now is to maintain tight control over current spending so we don't have to rely as heavily on our fund balance and reserves. Preserving those funds today will give us the flexibility we need to balance the 2027 - 2028 budget responsibly. 

Our first budget presentation to the Â鶹´«Ã½AVÔÚÏß¿´ Board of Education will be on October 19, 2026. If you are interested in hearing the presentation, you can attend the Board Meeting in person, or watch it from the comfort of your home by logging on to the LiveStream link that can be found on our Â鶹´«Ã½AVÔÚÏß¿´ Web site.

We would like you to be an active participant in our budget process by taking a minute to complete a quick survey to rank items to help us plan for our 2027-2028 budget. Staff and community feedback will be an important third point of data that will help bridge the Â鶹´«Ã½AVÔÚÏß¿´'s priorities and the Â鶹´«Ã½AVÔÚÏß¿´ Board of Education’s priorities. The survey will close on October 23.
